What It’s Like To outlive Rotator Cuff Surgery – My Story
Diseases, Disorders return false;” />See results Week 9 Celebration!!
Two weeks ago having accomplished post op week 7, I was very upset to study I had to endure “The Sling And i” for a minimum of two extra weeks. The Sling and i have been considering filing for divorce at that time! I simply hit the tolerance wall one day for no obvious reason and it was all I may don’t to just “sling it.”
Effectively, at the moment was my postop week 9 checkup with the surgeon. He was very happy with how all the pieces is looking. He informed me I may truly begin shifting my arm in any route (woo hoo!!) and added extra exercises for the PT people. This was trigger for an enormous celebration! I settled, however, for driving home without the sling on and pumping my own fuel for the primary time in over two months! I also chopped up a bunch of veggies to make some homemade vegetable soup. All in all it was fairly thrilling!
The only restriction on me now’s that I’m not allowed to elevate anything. I can dwell with that for awhile!
He additionally gave me the good news that in three more weeks I will likely be allowed to start strengthening workout routines! It will be good to be allowed to do one thing more proactive than simply resting my shoulder!
Bodily Therapy With The new Workouts
Had my first PT with these yesterday – delayed as a result of I spent a couple of days in the hospital on account of a cellulitis infection in my leg. The entire workouts felt nice, triggered no pain, only a sort of bizarre feeling because the muscles had not been moved in so long.
In two extra weeks we get to begin strengthening workouts – I am very enthusiastic about that! Give me some work and let me get this arm back!

Hi Sheila..I know you’re properly past your procedure now and it feels like everything turned out nice. I simply wished to praise you in your nice attitude and say thanks for sharing. I fell like a klutz three weeks in the past and had surgical procedure 1 week in the past for a partial shoulder alternative and cuff tear. I am miserable and I haven’t stopped tearing up and the best way things are going I’ll in all probability be an enormous child all the 8+ weeks! I’m in a Don Joy immobilizer brace with a giant foam block between my arm and my body. I’ve by no means been in a straight jacket (really, I have never!) however I wager it feels much like this. It is constructed with 98% Velcro which tends to poke by in essentially the most painful (and private) locations. I HATE Velcro now! Even probably the most comfy place to sit down/sleep I’ve found (recliner) leaves much to be desired in any position. I’m additionally plugged in to a cooler system that circulates ice water. The “cape” with the cooling chambers needs to be placed on with assist and elastic bandage-type fasteners. I hate elastic bandages now too! 🙂 every time I recline all the pieces rides up in an attempt to strangle me.. Though I’ve never been in a prison cell (really I have never ) I am pretty certain I would be extra comfy in a 6 x 6 jail cell. I am no stranger to ache. I’ve survived cancer, have lived with fibromyalgia for 15+ years, and have disc degeneration within the lumbar and cervical spine, and arthritis, most pronounced in my hips. I thought I knew what pain was.. However now I do know the ache scale actually goes a lot greater than 10. And naturally now all of the docs (even my surgeon) will get squeamish should you request pain medicine refills. Thanks DEA! And road drug customers! Now it appears I’m developing lymphedema as I had node biopsies in the troubled arm. It appears I’ve such a long road ahead I feel depleted and whooped. Do not know what, other than prayers, and junk meals, goes to get me by means of this. Thanks for listening.. I haven’t shed one tear whereas scripting this publish. WOOT!

Very nervous about getting by means of each day actions without my dominant arm. I too have long hair and it is curly besides. I am going to look just like the Lion King! Also, going to the bathroom is about to be very awkward! Thanks for posting your journey. I respect what you shared. Good luck to you!

I havent experienced ombre color for dark hair this, but understand your suffering. I presently have a golfer’s elbow, nothing in comparison with what you’re undergoing although, however that prevents me from doing many things, primarily not with the ability to play golf, something which I like immensely.
